I like to look up at the wires in the city, to see how they divide the sky into sections, and connect the blocks. Some neighborhoods are lightly basted together, the wiring delicate, provisional; some neighborhoods are lashed down so tightly that you wonder if one of the row houses once tried to escape across the railroad tracks.

Love this one. Electric / phone poles are so photogenic!
Your thoughtful description is just as deep as the picture of wires in the city. I love coming to your site and scrolling down to see your latest entries. You deserved that WebLog award.
Lovely.
I just can't thank you enough for doing this blog. You always inspire me.
I had previously posted that I, too, would start a drawing journal -- and I have! But not every day. However, I draw at least every other day and I write little notes about the day near my drawing. The reason way I love it is because I always feel like, "well... at least I got a drawing done today." If I get nothing else accomplished, at least I drew. And doing something creative always makes me feel better.
Now that I've started this, I can really appreciate what goes into your drawing every day AND a painting a month!!!
A beautiful vignette, simple but powerful. Your drawings are magical!
If you fly in your dreams, you REALLY notice how many electrical wires there are everywhere.
Thank you all so much.
Kim, that's such terrific news - great to hear about the way you are finding time for art and reflection/writing in day-to-day life.
And Laura, I hadn't thought of the hazard to dream-flight.
i really love this drawing.
