new toy

Just found this via Jason Kottke.

I have always liked the idea of wikis but have not known where to start with them myself. TiddlyWiki, a non-linear personal web notebook created by Jeremy Ruston, is a nifty bit of html, css, and javascript that I cannot resist playing with. The whole thing is one self-contained html file. No server-side nothing. Amazing. Do I know what I am going to do with it yet? No. Do I know that I am going to spend the next few hours/days/weeks playing with it? Definitely.

shirt folding

I saw this on Boing Boing last spring, and it has come to the surface of my mind again. (Perhaps because of the laundry I need to put away?) It reminds me of my childhood and watching women fold up their umbrellas with precise and even creases, or watching a babysitter peel her tangerine in one long perfect curl.

cleaning house

Spent part of the morning cleaning my weblogs' Augean stables (aka spam-filled comments threads). I highly recommend Jay Allen's MT-Blacklist plug-in as a way to wash your site clean of comment spam. The instructions walked me through the installation process, and then it was just a matter of searching and clicking.

Now if only there was a plug-in for my house. . .
