the costumer's manifesto

I spent hours on this site and its various pages tonight. Whether it's theories of how to do efficient image research in a library, musings on dada calisthenics, or great ideas for dumpster-diver decor, it's somewhere on this site.

Tara Maginnis describes her online book The Costumer's Manifesto as "the first 'self-help' manual for those artists who make clothes for imaginary people," but don't assume that her ideas and advice only apply to costuming, though I'm sure the site is a great resource for people who do that. I read it as a site full of thoughts and ideas about living an extraordinary and creative life - wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

Not only am I thinking about how I work, how I teach and create stuff, but I'm thinking a little about covering some switchplates with clippings from my junk mail.
