Hot nights return, and I'm thinking about line. Even thinking about cross-hatching or a wash of shadow makes me hotter. The edge of the coffee table is horizon enough.

you're the master of the minimal line -- the line that says a lot more than a busy cross-hatching job (which is my tendency). You may have mentioned this somewhere before, but what is the book that you are using?

Hi Elizabeth

I come here quite often but have as of now not left any comments.

Your drawings are inspirational! I like this ope of the foot and agree sometimes line is the simplest representation of an idea or emotion that is difficult to convey without making it complicated.

Your description just set this one in motion or rather lack of motion because of the warmth you are experiencing where you live.

Hope it cools off a little for you.

I am using my brain to send a cool breeze to you all the way from Vancouver BC. Cheers!

wagonized: Thanks. I make my sketchbooks. I've been meaning to pull together a post about materials - now I'll try to get that done this week.

Jessica: Thanks for the thoughts of cool breezes - thunderstorms swept through tonight, and more are expected tomorrow, and I think this particular end-of-summer heatwave is ending.
