Another one. Trying to remember the taste and texture of summer meals as we head into cooler nights.
We have a frost advisory tonight, so it was a good excuse to move the houseplants inside for the season.

Metal water bottle is flask-sized, and the lid closes with an old-fashioned wire bail. Since it doesn't hold a lot of water (1/2 liter) it's never very heavy.

New purchase. Most of the houseplants are still outside, though.

A present. While all the other houseplants are still outside for the summer, it has the corner of the kitchen to itself.

I forgot that I had a black china marker. Very crayon-y to draw with - and resists water in the same way the white one does.
From our lake visit. We gathered beautiful smooth stones to remember the place, the time, the view.
Hard to keep up with these at this time of year.
Returned to the beach this morning for a while...
But not the ocean - even though it felt like that. We drove to Presque Isle state park, only a couple of hours from home, and sat on the shore of Lake Erie. Wind, waves, smooth sand, mild water... a perfect mini-break for the holiday weekend.
Local. The season will end, but meanwhile...
