July 2012 Archives

day2773.jpg

Half full.
day2772.jpg

Skyline view from my Cambridge hotel.

day2771.jpg

Drawn in ink and cherry juice, which does not dry red.
day2770.jpg

On the windowsill, early in the morning, with the edge of the bay behind it.
day2769.jpg

With a stack of books on the table.
day2768full.jpg

Last night, I was on a plane, trying to sleep upright in a far less comfortable seat than this one.
day2767.jpg

Holding my sketchbook.
day2766.jpg

Two trees on a straw-colored California hillside.
day2765.jpg

These seem to be in conversation, as well.
day2764.jpg

When I was little, I never understood why grown ups would stand in the water at the beach and talk and talk and talk.
day2763.jpg

The colored light hung on in the sky, even after the rocks and shore across the bay became dark silhouettes.
day2762.jpg

Long skirt draping over my foot. Relaxing after a full day.
day2761.jpg

From my mother's garden.

bay

day2760.jpg

Still and hot - at least until the thunderstorms rolled through.
day2759.jpg

Listening to the sound of waves at night.
day2758.jpg

Houses beside the Susquehanna River - view from the train we took across Pennsylvania today as we headed toward a family gathering in Massachusetts.
day2757.jpg

A favorite pair of silver earrings are like gestures or wire writing.

pen

day2756.jpg

Ballpoint pen, drawn with a fountain pen.

hat

day2755.jpg

This is my favorite summer hat.
day2754.jpg

From the hotel window this morning.
day2753.jpg

Bought some fizzy water and the bottle is still on the table
day2752.jpg
day2751.jpg

Somewhat crumpled on the bed. Painted the shape first, then drew lines.
day2750.jpg

Back in New York, for a week of work. So much to see and draw...
day2749.jpg

A local peach, bought at the farmer's market this morning.
day2748.jpg

Lands briefly, then heads away on another night errand.
day2747.jpg

As seen from our front porch tonight.
day2746.jpg

The lemon from a friend's driveway is now ripe yellow, and not so green. A cross-country trip in checked luggage does not seem to have hurt it. (And my clothing smells lemonlike...)

jar

day2745.jpg

I wasn't thinking of "jar" in the sense of shaking, but today was a day with lots of travel in it, so that I could get from home to an out-of-town meeting, and then get home again. All in one day. Completely worth it. I'll be home for the rest of the week. Hooray.
day2744.jpg

These don't last long in our house... probably my favorite berry.
day2743.jpg

Home again, recharging devices and self.
