Bought to be part of a Halloween costume.  Now simply worn around the house.

Meant to be all-weather shoes, but with the fleece lining, I like the way they feel as slippers.

With snow flurries in the forecast, acorn squash may be just the thing for supper tomorrow.

That didn't take long at all. Yesterday we had a bowlful of clementines. Today we have one.

After a month of disconnection, I quietly re-opened comments last night to see if the comment spam would start up where it had left off. Checked in the morning: nothing. Checked in the afternoon: nothing. Checked again after supper: still nothing. So I think the storm has passed. (I was getting 3,000 - 4,000 spam comments every day when I turned commenting off.)

Thanks for your patience, and glad to let the conversation resume!

day2490.jpg

So last night I decide to back up my computer and am using two separate external hard drives to do so - one is running TimeMachine for my laptop, one is backing up my photo library in another way. Redundancy makes me happy. In doing this, I forget about the fact that once I have cables plugged in two of my USB ports, my SD card reader will be too bulky to fit into the third USB port. And I am too sleepy after a long day to think of any of the several work-arounds that seem obvious to me this morning.  A long way of saying that back-ups completed, here's last night's apple sketch! (Public service announcement - are you backed up? Just copy a few key files to someplace else right now, even if you are going to back things up later...)

A day that circulated through heavy rain, gusts of wind, and sunshine with towering clouds. Leaves blew and fell.

Small zipped bag that I got years ago, when we were living in Iowa. It holds my knitting gauge, stitch holders, tape measure, needlework scissors, yarn needles, and other knitting gadgets and notions.

I highly recommend eating strawberries on your porch after work, if the day is sunny.
