Also known as Juneberry, and now in bloom.

Is this a bush or tree? And what color is it? Karen

It's a tall shrub or clump of saplings - white blossoms - then purple berries, like blueberries but with tiny seeds in them and less pronounced flavor (good in muffins, though!) - then intense orange-gold foliage in the fall. It's a native plant in western Pennsylvania: Amelanchier laevis.

I have a tree that is blooming at this time outside my kitchen window. In the summer the birds eat the berries. Such a treat for the birds and myself. I like your drawing.
