A few sprigs, given to me this afternoon.
One wilted lilac leaf on the stem I brought inside.

Soon it will be warm enough for our ficus to be moved outside for the summer. Meanwhile, it stands in a corner of the dining room, more twig than leaf.
The spoon handle resting on the edge of the bowl reminds me of an indicator needle on some gauge. Reading "after dinner," perhaps?

More play with materials. What happens when I start with a brush pen, add a kind of chalk, and then layer gouache on top? Luckily my sketchbook paper (Lenox 100) stands up to lots of working...

Well, this is the view in the distance, if I look out over the buildings of downtown Bellevue. Rained all day. Can't wait to see more of this landscape tomorrow.
