The slightest breeze near my arm: a breath, a kiss, a wish. I look up from my reading - and a small insect flies away without having landed on me. Just in the neighborhood.

Made me smile. Thank you.

I lurk on your site everyday and these are always charming w/c snippets I love to see - but this morning deserves a comment as the bugs of summer are in high bloom - what a wonderful whimsical bug!

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy seeing your daily sketches. I have been wanting to sketch and watercolor the way that you do, but I am not sure where to start. Do you have any suggestions or know of any websites that give beginners instructions. I know the best way to learn is to just do it, but I am looking for a "teacher" to help me get going on the right track.

If you can give me any info that would be wonderful!

Thanks, everyone.

Kalee, I really liked the book "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain." The exercises there began to help me see things differently. Danny Gregory's "Creative License" is also great for advice and inspiration.
