We have a fig tree in our Pennsylvania back yard. Figs are marginally hardy in our climate zone, so unless you are prepared to move the plant or bury it in mulch, you have to accept uneven crops. Some years our tree makes it through the winter with minimal damage, and other years cold weather kills it back almost to the ground. This year I'm not expecting much from our tree, so I was delighted to find fresh local figs at the market here in California.
