unknown rose

The climbing red roses out front were there when we moved in. They have no particular scent, the leaves mildew and fall off through the summer, but they are glorious while blooming.

Hi, Elizabeth, your sister called your blog to my attention and I just had a great time digging through. On this front page I especially enjoyed the saltine and the challenge of a hand drawing begun from a new point. I wrote rachel that I loved the way the drawings and brief captions manage to tell a lot--seasons, the presence of children and a suggestion of age, your love of flowers--with great economy, not telling all but leaving room for discoveries.
And doing this for so long!!! that's a serious endeavor.
