After taking part in the giant (four-household) grocery run which filled the morning with laughter and logistics, by late afternoon I had a chance to walk down to the water's edge with sketchbook and paints, all by myself.

Oh, heavens, how wonderful.

wow, fantastic - that water looks incredible

How glorious, and for such a wonderful event. Enjoy every minute and sketch and post as much as you can for all of us in the frozen tundra. Merry Christmas!

This painting is so serene. I love the low horizon and how the sky takes up the majority of the space.

Color me green with envy over here in cold, gray France. This is lovely - thanks for sharing it.

My computer has been unwell for a while and have just caught up with your pre Christmas postings.Hope you all had a great holiday and look forward to viewing more great paintings in the New Year.My daughter bought me a new sketch/painting book for Xmas with 50 pages...looks like at least a painting a week in 2008.

I am so glad to see that you and your family got to do this wonderful vacation together! I LOVED Maui when we went. Unfortunately, at the time, I didn't paint :( This small painting captures so much of the island feeling.

I love the way this right palm is dancing!
