riverside cafe

A sunny day, and I drew a woman as she sat on the steps looking out at the Chicago River at lunchtime. The boat traffic was all sightseeing boats, as far as I could tell, and the cafe seemed busy.

Elizabeth, your perspective is perfect in this, I love it! So many angles and different things going on, great job!

I look most days - and I enjoy your sketches. This one really hit me, though; this is marvelous. Free, loose, fun, and still gets the structure right. Wonderful use of color, free washes, and it just breathes so freely. Playful.

what an absolutely gorgous picture! Thank you!

You captured the perspective and from such a difficult angle! Delightful choice of colors.
