We went to visit the Carnegie Science Center today. The building has great views of the rivers. This window lets you look up the Ohio River, toward Downtown Pittsburgh and the point where the Allegheny and the Monongahela Rivers join. The Allegheny appeared to be mostly frozen today - more open water on the Mon and the Ohio.

so did you do this from memory or did you stop and paint while out? Love the clouds!
I stood at a window on the top floor of the museum and painted. Propped my small sketchbook on the sill...
And someone asked about the waterbrush - she couldn't see where I had water... so I got to show it to her and tell her where she could get one.
And someone else expressed surprise to see that I was painting. My sketchbook is small, and my altoids-tin-paintset is tiny, so she thought from my posture (turned away from the museum crowds, doing something small with my hands) that I was checking a Blackberry.
But I was painting. For maybe twenty minutes. Great fun.
Oh, you have me getting a bit homesick. I grew up in a little mill town on the river Ohio, about 60 miles from Pittsburgh.
I remember a 7th grade field trip with that view of the waters at the Y.
It's fun that you were painting and bystanders were comfortable enough to ask questions and comment.
Love your artworks, and especially this one.
Thanks!
