plans, possibilities

So much to be grateful for. A red binder and a blue binder from my planning retreat. I spent my weekend in the inspiring company of other artists. By all rights I ought to be completely exhausted, but I find I'm facing the week ahead with excitement and anticiipation.

I love this, Liz. Thanks for the constant inspiration!

Have you ever seen Emily Eveleth's donuts? This reminds me of them, somehow. You can check her out at

Elizabeth - I really enjoyed looking at all your sketches. Are you using the larger moleskin for them? Your style reminds me of Hannah Hinchman's in some ways (composition, lettering...). I am currently rereading her book on illustrated journaling ("A Life in Hand") which is where i started a few years ago and got sidetracked. I've bookmarked your site to check every couple of days. Thanks for the inspiration!

Nancy - thanks. Hannah Hinchman's work opened my eyes to new ways of thinking about text on a page. I use the small Moleskine notebooks. They seemed less intimidating when I began drawing, and now the small scale has become part of the daily rhythm of this work for me.
