An old glass inkwell. I don't use bottled ink often enough to keep it full, though there is some dried dark substance in the bottom of the well which might make an interesting experimental wash some day.

Gorgeous! I love that the background is so richly colored and the drawing is left "as is" -- I'd never of thought of doing that!
I like how it came out, too. I was thinking about the negative space on the page, and then it seemed natural to put the ink outside the glass.
