I've been looking at some screencast-style tutorials in the last few days, as I try to learn (or re-learn) some video editing and compositing techniques. In one set of screencasts, the sample footage being edited features the narrator of the series - so even though you don't see his face talking you through the steps of the process he's teaching you, you see his face on the screen anyway, in another context. I feel much more connected to his video, and it holds my attention better than others.
